It's getting hot!
The weather forecasts are predicting plenty of sunshine and high temperatures. That sounds lovely at first – and it is. At the same time, it’s easy to underestimate the heat at a festival. Between the dance floors, long walks, little sleep and so many new experiences, you sometimes only realise too late that your body has long been in need of a break.
So here’s our request: look after yourselves and look after one another.
Bring plenty of water with you for the journey, and please spare a thought for those who might be less well prepared. A hat, sun cream and regular breaks in the shade aren’t just ‘boring’ accessories – they’re actually pretty good festival essentials.
Take signs of overheating seriously: headaches, dizziness, nausea or circulatory problems aren’t challenges you can simply dance off. Seek shade, drink water and get help if necessary. There are free drinking water points all over the site.
If you’re travelling by car, take the occasional moment to look around you. People sleeping in the blazing sun or who look exhausted sometimes appreciate a friendly reminder or a glass of water. After all, looking out for one another is just as much a part of the festival as the music.
Please don’t sleep in locked cars, and ensure there’s adequate ventilation in tents, too. Temperatures can quickly become dangerous in there.
And because drought and heat unfortunately bring with them another issue: the risk of fire is high. Do not leave cigarette ends on the ground, refrain from using any kind of fireworks, and be particularly careful with barbecues, camping stoves and open fires. A single spark can be enough to cause major damage.
We’re looking forward to a sunny weekend with you all. Let’s work together to ensure everyone stays safe and healthy through the hot days.
